MichiPal prepares the trip; Google Maps handles live directions and transit times. No Maps API key is required.
With “Current location”, MichiPal leaves the origin blank so Google Maps can use your device's current position.

Private device settings stay in your browser. The published app contains no Airbnb street address.

Used when a Must See card sends you to Route Planner.
Display
Choose the font used across the interface and card copy on this device. The MichiPal title and Japanese/local-language names keep their own fonts.
Backup
Export your local additions, overrides, hidden cards, visited/tried status and saved routes. Curated built-in content is not duplicated in the backup.
Local weather & privacy
The date comes from your device. Weather is optional: tap “Enable local weather” in the top strip and your browser will ask for location permission. MichiPal uses the coordinates only to request current conditions from Open-Meteo; it does not save your coordinates in local storage.

Cover image policy
MichiPal only uses cover images with a clearly stated reuse licence. Public-domain images are ideal, but Creative Commons images are also usable when their attribution and licence terms are followed. Random search-result, blog, restaurant or tourism photos are not used unless their permission is explicit.
